MARLY BEYER

Marly Beyer is a visual artist living and working in her hometown of Los Angeles, CA. Her handbuilt narrative ceramics and watercolors explore personal experience and how that extends beyond the self. An evolving language, featuring figures and symbols influenced by a Western-noir aesthetic, world mythologies, and the impacts of loss and place, considers the shape of relationships, and the transitions that occur through them.

The same conversation plays out differently across the two mediums, but the hard line and third dimension of the pottery allow for a more directly symbolic approach while her saturated works on paper invite us to consider a more obfuscated and poetic world.
