ERNESTO AZCARATE
Based in Mexico City, Ernesto Azcárate creates limited pieces that capture the ambivalence of transformation.
These photographs are not perfect, rather they are the synthesis between the flaws of the materials and the subtlety of working on them to turn them into successes.
Celebrating the imperfect pushes the boundaries between design and sculpture.

“My work starts from the inexperienced and unspecialized hand, where all possibilities converge, open to the experience of the moment.
Here, failures and successes are the genuine expression, taking a direction that will result in the unique capture of that dynamic moment.
We never stop transforming. The final result is like a photograph that immortalizes that brief and significant moment.”
Umbral
Beyond its function, the chair reflects on time, permanence, and the
ephemeral.
The bronze structure symbolizes the human desire for permanence, while
the leather weaving and wooden backrest remind us of fragility and evoke
the melancholy of what once was life.
Between the solidity of bronze and the delicacy of the weaving, a poetic
tension arises that gives meaning to the chair, exploring the relationship
between the permanent and the transient.
